ARGS 40th IU DAY : SUCCESS!

Hey there fellow Interactors! We apologize for the lack of updates but as promised, here is a brief blog post on our latest club project, which was our 40th International Understanding (IU) Day. It was held on the 30th April, Saturday from 10:00a.m. to 1:00p.m. at the Wisma Chinese Chamber, Jalan Ampang. This year our ARGS Interact Club has decided to have an IU Day based on a combination of two countries, which were Egypt and Hollywood, which explained our theme "Mummies in Hollywood!".

Handmade 'mummies' were given to guests as doorgifts and were placed in the exhibition area.

Our very own Spongebob welcome sign!

The formal Master of Ceremonies (MC) of the day, Tiffany Ng and Prashanaa.

The event kicked off with the Introduction of Board of Directors term 2010/2011.

The informal MCs, Aaliyah Hasna and Abigail Iben.

The opening act performance was inspired by Michael Jackson's "Thriller" music video as well as hip hop genres.

A singing performance by our very own Interactor, Esther Peter and our ex-Interactor, Lydia Esra.

Winners of the lucky draw events were certainly lucky! Prizes that were given away to guests included Sunway Lagoon vouchers, albums (by artists Bruno Mars, Christina Aguilera, Linkin Park and more), San Francisco mugs and vouchers as well as sponsors from GlaxoSmithKline.

"All That Jazz" performance.

"Flying Solo", a singing performance by Kimberley Cheam, Vanessa Cheam, Lydia Esra and pianist Lim Weng Wah.

And of course, one of the highlights of the event was the fire breathing, (performed professionally by Miss Azrina Zahri!) which was a part of the "Drama of Egypt" performance.

And last but not least, Fashion Show : ARGS Runway!

To sum it up, our 40th International Understanding Day was a success! On behalf of the club, we would like to thank everyone who have contributed to the making of this event. Thank you all for your support throughout the planning of this event and we hope to see you again at our next event! :D

On another note, we recently held an interview session for the upcoming Board of Directors 2011/2012. The results will be out soon and the date of the installation will be announced once it's confirmed.
